Summer School Program
Progress Input, Completion Tracking & Reporting

The Summer School Program solution keeps a short, intensive term fully documented. Teachers open one input workspace for each summer class and record a class overview, a comment for every student and skills ratings on a five-level scale. Co-ordinators follow a completion tracker that shows, by campus, grade and teacher, which overviews, comments, skills and guardian emails are still pending and where to focus first. Administrators set the term dates and entry windows, and when the term ends the summer report is generated as a PDF and emailed to each guardian.

Solution Overview

A short term, fully documented

Summer programs move fast, and the record of what each student achieved is often the first thing to slip. This solution gives teachers a single input workspace per summer class with three entries: an Overview that applies to the whole class for the term, a Comment for each student written in a rich-text editor, and a Skills Assessment grid where every skill in the class library is rated Beginning, Developing, Progressing, Independent or Not Yet Addressed. Skills can be added or grouped into categories, exported to CSV and saved in one click.

Co-ordinators see the whole picture on the Completion Tracker: a snapshot of total, completed and ongoing students, email status, and how many overviews, comments and skills are still pending, with a breakdown by grade and a follow-up priority list by teacher. A student grid shows each student’s overview, comments, skills and email status, and opens the student’s full details on a click. The Configuration console sets the summer term, entry windows and the guardian email template, and the Progress Report generator produces the PDF, previews it and sends it to the selected guardian. Everything runs on the BDB Platform.

How It Works

How it works section

From term setup to the guardian’s inbox in four steps

Administrators set the summer term dates, the entry windows for teachers and co-ordinators and the email template. During the term, teachers complete the overview, comments and skills ratings for each class. Co-ordinators watch the completion tracker, chase pending items by grade and teacher and finish their review. When every entry is in, the summer report is generated and emailed to each guardian.
